Les malvàcies (Malvaceae) són una família botànica que pren el nom de la malva. Alguns taxonomistes també inclouen la família Bombacaceae dins les Malvaceae, altres però les consideren diferents basant-se principalment en caràcters evolutius, diferències en el pol·len i en el fet que les Bombaceae acostumen a ser arbres i arbusts i les Malvaceae no.

En sentit estricte les Malvaceae inclouen de 111 a 119 gèneres i unes 1.500 espècies entre les que es troben, a part de les malves, el cotó i l'okra.
