Billy Preston

William Everett Preston (Houston, 2 settembre 1946 – Scottsdale, 6 giugno 2006) è stato un pianista statunitense.
Talento del pianoforte, iniziò la carriera ancora adolescente accompagnando in tournée Little Richard. Alla fine degli anni sessanta suona con i Beatles nell'album e film "Let It Be", cosa che gli permette anche di sfondare come solista con la loro etichetta la Apple Records. Nella sua prolifica carriera ha suonato anche con i Beatles, Rolling Stones, Ray Charles, Eric Clapton, Bob Dylan, Sam Cooke, Sammy Davis Jr., Sly Stone, Aretha Franklin, the Jackson 5, Quincy Jones, Elton John e i Red Hot Chili Peppers. Muore a soli 59 anni, colpito da tempo da un'ipertensione maligna e consecutiva malattia ai reni, per il quale subì anche un trapianto.
