Els prototeòrids (Prototheoridae) són una família d'insectes lepidòpters, i formen part de la superfamília dels hepialoïdeus (Hepialoidea). També se les anomena "primitives arnes fantasma d'Àfrica" (African Primitive Ghost Moths) i són endèmiques de la part meridional d'Àfrica (Angola, Malawi) .
