SOS Children's Village Mar Del Plata
SOS Children's Village Mar del Plata is located in the town of the same name on the Atlantic coast, about 400km from Buenos Aires. Mar del Plata is an elegant seaside resort that has 800,000 inhabitants.
As the original SOS Children's Village Mar del Plata (built in 1982) was too isolated from the city, SOS Children decided to close it down and build a new SOS Children's Village Mar del Plata in a more central location. Two hectares of land were subsequently acquired a more urban area of Mar del Plata.
The new SOS Children's Village was opened in 1997 and consists of ten family houses, the village director's house, a house for the SOS aunts (SOS Children’s Village mothers in training, who assist current SOS mothers in their everyday work, and stand in for them in case of illness or holidays), a playground, sports ground and an SOS Nursery.

The SOS Nursery incorporates three common rooms, a kitchen, a multi-purpose hall, a staff room, two storage rooms, and several bathrooms. Doctor's surgeries, schools, shopping centres, convenience-stores and supermarkets can all be found very close to the SOS Children's Village, which has good transport links to all areas of the town.
