Aids Orphans in Equatorial Guinea

Equatorial Guinea lies on the Atlantic Coast of west Africa, to the south of Cameroon. It has a population of just 400,000 and is one of the smallest countries in Africa. The incidence of HIV/AIDS is, according to UNICEF, very low but infant mortality rate is high - 20%. SOS Children has worked in Equatorial Guinea since 1996 helping orphaned and vulnerable children and their families. In 2002 an SOS Medical Centre was opened which includes treatment and prevention of HIV/AIDS.
